Demand for new logistics space at the border grows: Bekaert to move to new customized manufacturing warehouse by CTP in Aš

CTPark Aš currently has two fully leased warehouses with a total area of nearly 34,000 m². CTP is now starting construction on a third warehouse of almost 16,500 m², of which more than 10,000 m² will be leased by Bekaert Textiles. The developer plans to build at least two more warehouses on the site. In total, CTPark Aš will offer clients up to 50,000 m² of additional industrial space. CTP is already in negotiations with other potential tenants to lease the new premises.

The park lies at an exceptional location in the Czech Republic. It is located only three kilometres from the German border, which allows tenants to serve both the Czech and German territories.

Jakub Kodr, Business Developer at CTP, said:

“We have recently seen increased interest in leasing our logistics and industrial parks, especially those on the German border.”

Other sought-after parks in the area include CTPark Cheb or one of the largest parks in Central and Eastern Europe, CTPark Bor, whose approx. 500,000 m² of leasable space make it one of the most attractive locations in Central Europe. The Bor park houses, for example, leading international technology and automotive suppliers or companies like Primark and Loxxess.

“Our priority is to make sure that the space we supply is tailored to the specific requirements of our clients, so they can concentrate on their businesses as much as possible and leave everything around the buildings to us,” Kodr added. Eyeing an increase in production and storage capacity, Bekaert will leave its existing premises in downtown Aš, which are no longer sufficient, and move into the new warehouse later this year. The company will be able to benefit from brand new, customized, state-of-the-art premises in CTPark, which will also be built to the highest environmental standard: BREEAM Excellent.

Bekaert Textiles will employ around 100 people in Aš, a town with a population of approx. 13,000. Dozens of jobs will be added to its current workforce. “The new premises will allow us to expand our current storage and production capacity. Our exclusive customer, a global furniture manufacturer, is switching to recycled materials as part of its sustainability efforts, which means we will now produce textiles not only from cotton but also from recycled polyester. The new premises will therefore enable us to further streamline our production processes, improve the quality of our products and create room for further growth and enhanced customer service,” explained David Gossl, Bekaert Textiles’ plant manager.
