2015 Freedom of Press Report: Czech Republic 21st: some degree of self-censorship of media workers, oligarchization, lower quality&depth of news reporting

The Czech Republic ranks 21st out of 180 countries asessed in the 2015 Freedom of the Press Report by the Freedomhouse organisation, compared with 9th place in the 2014 report. Harsh laws and violence drive global decline, the organization says, adding that global press freedom declined in 2014 to its lowest point in more than ten years.

Businesseurope's Reform Barometer Spring 2016: Progress in innovation, skills in Czech Republic unsatisfactory

BUSINESSEUROPE's Reform Barometer, published on 3 March 2016, raises concerns that 'reform fatigue' may be setting in as the EU economy starts to extend its recovery from economic crisis. Results from BUSINESSEUROPE's member federations show that only 20% on the European Commission's recommended national-level reforms have been followed by satisfactory implementation, compared with 22% in 2015.
