Total stimulus for the COVID-19 crisis already triple that for the entire 2008–09 recession

Governments allocated $10 trillion for economic stimulus in just two months—and for some countries, their response as a percentage of GDP was nearly ten times what it was in the financial crisis of 2008–09.

The economy is bottoming, while the CNB will cut rates

In May, the macroeconomic data will unveil the economy in a free fall and bottoming in April. The economy will probably start to expand again; however, the level of output is very low and there are many obstacles for future growth. Therefore, the CNB will probably cut interest rates further, Komerční banka says.
