Czech Investment in ICT Equipment, Software at 4.3% of GDP

In 2019, companies and public administration invested almost CZK 245 bn in ICT equipment and software. Investment in software and databases has been growing at a significantly faster pace, accounting for two-thirds of the total investment in ICT, than investment in ICT equipment. More than 18% of the total R&D expenditures in the country were spent in the ICT industry.

With your advice, AmCham recently changed its membership structures, splitting the IT Committee to form a Digital Economy Council and concentrating the IT Committee on sharing best practice for using the technology to improve the functionality of a business. On 17 January 2017, Secretary of State Tomáš Prouza met with fifty representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Prague Clarion Hotel. During a business breakfast he discussed the Digital Agenda of the Czech Republic, European affairs and also the upcoming parliamentary elections in autumn 2017.
