Czech Workforce Report 4: Employment & median wage by occupation in the South Moravian (Jihomoravsky) region for the period 2011-2015

Report 4 key findings
Employment. 55% of employment in the South Moravian region is of managers (5%), professionals (20%), and technicians (30%).

Employment. Managers, professionals, craftsmen, and plant / machine operators, assemblers had fewer jobs in 2015 than in 2011. Technicians, and clerical workers had more jobs.

Employment. The number of private sector professionals for every public sector professional (and similarly technicians, clerical employees and craftsmen) increased, while the number of private sector managers for every public sector manager (and similarly plant / machine operators, assemblers) declined.

Wages. Median wage grew for all occupational categories both in the private and public sector, generally by around 10% or more, except for private sector clerical workforce. Professionals and craftsmen in the private sector received the highest increase in pay of all occupational categories.

Wages. In three occupational areas, technicians, clerical employees and plant / machine operators, assemblers, public sector employees earn a higher median wage than private sector employees.

Wages. The gap between manager and professional pay was larger in the public sector than in the private sector and has widened in the public sector. The gap between professional and technician pay is significantly larger in the private sector than in the public sector.

Wages. The difference in median wage of clerical workers and plant / machine operators, assemblers is marginal in both sectors.  

Wages. Median wage of public sector professionals fell further behind their counterparts in the private sector; similarly, median wage of private sector clerical workforce fell further behind their public sector counterparts.

Wages. In 2015, 29% of all compensations in the private sector were paid to technicians and 44% of compensations in the public sector were paid to professionals.
