Update on mandatory employee testing in the Czech Republic

Exceptions from testing

All employees of all employers (as well as self-employed persons) who attend the workplace are required to be tested for COVID-19 at least once a week. As a result of the new measure of Ministry of Health, people who have had COVID-19 and those who have been vaccinated do not have to undergo regular testing.

The test does not have to be taken by:

  • persons who provide evidence that they have had COVID-19 disease, the period of ordered isolation has passed, they currently show no symptoms and not more than 180 days have passed since the first positive PCR or antigen test (previously only 90 days was accepted)
  • persons who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 disease and can prove that:
    • at least 22 days have passed since the first dose of the two-dose vaccine, but not more than 90 days if the second dose has not yet been applied
    • at least 22 days have passed since the first dose of the two-dose vaccine was applied, but not more than 9 months if a second dose was also applied
    • at least 14 days but no more than 9 months have passed since the vaccine dose was applied for a single-dose vaccine

The other points of the measure dealing with employee testing remained unchanged.
