CIJ Journal: Court voids change to master plan for Amazon in Brno

The regional court in Brno voided a change to the city’s master that would pave the way for the construction of Amazon’s second Czech distribution center. Developer CTP hoped it would be able to build the warehouse on a 10 ha site in the Černovická Terrace industrial zone in Brno. Discussions took months, and Amazon eventually canceled its plan. A few weeks later, Brno officials finally approved the change to the master plan that would greenlight the project.

Local activists Čisté Tuřany took the decision to court, demanding that the zone stick to light manufacturing. Many residents feared traffic would increase if a distribution center went up in the zone, CIJ Journal wrote.
