On 29th May national Construction Industry Leaders Meeting 2014 took place in the building of Czech National Bank. Among others also Czech president Miloš Zeman, Czech PM Bohuslav Sobotka, Minister of Commerce Jan Mládek and Minister of Regional Development Věra Jourová attended the conference. During his speech the Prime Minister Sobotka said that he is aware that the situation of Czech construction industry has been bad and that this state had been caused not only the world economic crisis but also by the steps of former government of Petr Nečas. PM Sobotka promised that his government would focus more on investment policy and he would take action and make amendments to current legislation to boost the situation of construction industry and of Czech economy as such. He also stressed the importance of proper use of European funding of Czech investments. Also Minister Jourová agreed that EU funding is important for construction business and said that up to 35 % of all funds had gone to that industry.
