CTK/Echo.24: Austrian highway could reach Czech borders in 2018

Austria plans to extend its A5 highway from Vienna in direction to the Czech border (Mikulov border crossing in South Moravia), APA News Agency informed today after the meeting of the Czech Transport Minister Dan Ťok with Niederösterreich regional governor Erwin Pröll. Currently, the A5 highway ends 30km from the Czech-Austrian border. The completion of the A5 highway will depend on the finalization of the Czech D52 connection between Mikulov and Brno. Also, Austria would like to improve the railway connection between Vienna and České Budějovice. This would increase accessibility of the airport in České Budějovice. Read details (in Czech).
