Czech foreign trade in record surplus in March

In March 2014 Czech foreign trade reached according to Czech Statistical Office record surplus of CZK 23.8 bn. In March the amount of export increased by 15.6 % to CZK 274 bn year-on-year. Import grew also but at significantly slower pace by 12.6 % to CZK 250.2 bn year-on-year. Cumulative surplus for the Q1 2014 reached the surplus of 50.1 bn which is 16.1 bn more than last year. Leading export goods are according to Czech Statistical Office means of transportation. Export was further positively affected by the amount of imported mineral fuels and negatively by the amount of imported chemical goods. These numbers show that the Czech economy is recovering and position of Czech exporters is strong.
