Czech government accepted new systematic plan for healthcare

Czech government on its session on 28th April accepted 19point plan of measures for the healthcare proposed by Minister of Health Svatopluk Němeček. The measures are supposed to ensure efficiency, transparency and higher savings in the healthcare. This plan is second this important material sent by the Ministry to Government after resolving problem of financing the income gap created by the cancellation of healthcare fees. In order to ensure higher efficiency and transparency new Instrument Commission is established with the participation of ministry, insurance companies, Czech Medical Chamber and other professional agencies. Concerning savings, CZK 700 million should be reintroduced to the healthcare system by cutting insurance companies’ running costs and additional CZK 600 million by reducing their reserve funds. Other measures including higher cooperation between insurance companies and possible conflict of interest of their employees are also to be introduced by the plan.
