Czech products available on Alibaba.com in mid-summer

Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce giant, will offer Czech products within a promotional campaign in mid-summer 2016, Czech PM Bohuslav Sobotka informed during his visit to China. Negotiations have been taking place with the aim to create a permanent section for Czech produce. Czech products, especially beer, wine and sports equipment, will be available to customers for two to three days at the beginning of August. More details on that are available here (in Czech). Meanwhile, the book Alibaba's World (Czech translation Alibaba.com: Příběh největšího on-line tržiště světa, available from March 2016) became one of six of The Wall Street Journal's "Best Business Books of 2015". In Alibaba's World, author Porter Erisman, one of Alibaba's first Western employees and its head of international marketing from 2000 to 2008, shows how Jack Ma, a Chinese schoolteacher who twice failed his college entrance exams, rose from obscurity to found Alibaba and lead it from struggling startup to the world's most dominant e-commerce player. P.Erisman believes readers in the Czech republic will take away some practical understanding of the opportunities that e-commerce in China is presenting for businesses in Czech republic.

"Alibaba has created the world’s largest shopping mall and businesses in the Czech republic can study Alibaba’s rise to understand how to access the China shopper by selling into China," the author says. Read more details on the book (in Czech and English).
