Czech Statistical Office: 45% of employees felt the effects of the crisis in April, May

According to the Czech Statistical Office, from April to May, 1.8 million employees felt the negative effects of measures against the COVID-19 pandemic. The most significantly affected sector was accommodation, catering and hospitality, where the share exceeded 90%. In sum, 1.4 million employees assumed the temporary nature of these effects, 314 thousand were worried about their jobs.

In most sectors, employees more often stated that they did not feel the negative effects of the situation on the economy, sales or the volume of work and orders. Compared to other regions, the impacts were felt somewhat more in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region.
