Czech Statistical Office: In all Czech regions no. of guests, overnight stays goes up in 2016

In 2016, the number of guests in the Czech republic rose by 6.9% and the number of overnight stays by 5.4%. The number of tourists both residents and from abroad went up (+7.0% and +6.7% respectively). The number of overnight stays was higher for both groups than in 2015.

In all regions of the Czech Republic, the number of guests as well as the number of overnight stays went up. The best result was recorded in Kralovehradecky region (+13.2%) and in the number of overnight stays, Ustecky region was the top perfomer (+10.6% nights).

Generally, the number of guests from abroad increased in 2016, compared with 2015. The drop in the number of tourists from Russia and Japan (by 15.0%; a drop by 19 thousand guests) compensated the increase in the number of tourists from Germany (by 6.4%; that is by 113 thousand) y-o-y. The number of tourists from Slovakia and Poland went up by 11.7% and 12.1%, respectively. Also, the number of guests from Asia China, South Korea, Taiwan, or Israel has grown. Podle dat Českého statistického úřadu Za celý rok 2016 hromadná ubytovací zařízení v ČR vykázala 6,9% zvýšení počtu ubytovaných osob a počet jejich přenocování se meziročně zvýšil o 5,4 %. 

Ve všech krajích republiky se meziročně zvýšila návštěvnost z hlediska počtu příjezdů i přenocování. Nejlépe byl na tom Karlovarský kraj (+13,2 % hostů), z pohledu přenocování Ústecký kraj (+10,6 % nocí).

Snížil se počet hostů z Ruska a Japonska, naopak narostl počet hostů z Německa, Slovenska, Polska a pokračoval nárůst hostů z Číny, Jižní Koreje, Tchaj-wanu a Izraele.
