DVB-T2 in the Czech Republic not until 2021

On Thursday 31 the Ministry of Industry and Commerce responded to the Radio Spectrum Policy Group (advisory to the EU) questions regarding the introduction of the so called DVB T2 standard. The ministry stressed that no actual steps towards the shift to new DVB-T2 will be made on the frequency of 700 MHz before the year 2021. Present standard DVB-T is expected to last at least for a couple of years. Even then the consumers will be able to choose whatever they would want as both standards would be operational alongside for a period of time. This is mainly due to the costs of change of hardware among the consumers that would be too high at the moment but will eventually decrease as the manufacturers would be motivate to introduce new model with the respective technologies already included.
