ECB Governing council left interest rates unchanged

The ECB´s Governing council met on its regular monthly meeting on 8th November 2012. Bankers led by Mario Draghi decided to keep the key ECB interest rates unchanged. Owing to high energy prices and increases in indirect taxes in some euro area countries, inflation rates are likely to remain above 2% for the rest of 2012, but are expected to fall from the next year.
