EU and Japan committed to free trade deal by this year´s end

In the margins of the G7 meeting, representatives of Japan, France, Germany, Italy, the UK and the EU reaffirmed the commitment to have the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement/Free Trade Agreement, which is being negotiated, in principle agreed as soon as possible in 2016. The talks have been ongoing for 3 years. The deal is intended to encompass all key issues including all types of tariffs and non-tariff measures.
