Euro area annual inflation down to 2.5%

European inflation finally dropped in October, reaching 2.5% in the euro area and 2.6% in the EU27. It went down by 0.1 percentage points in both areas, compared with September 2012. Compared with 2011, euro area inflation was 3.0% and EU27 inflation climbed up to 3.4%.

The lowest annual rates were measured in Greece (0.9%), Sweden (1.2%) and Latvia (1.6%). The highest rates were observed in Hungary (6.0%), Romania (5.0%) and Estonia (4.2%).
