Euro area annual inflation stable at 2.6%, EU stable at 2.7%

Annual inflation in euro area was 2.6% in September 2012 and 2.7% in the EU27, stable compared to August. It dropped by 0.4 and 0.6 percentage points respectively, compared to September 2011.

Countries with the lowest annual inflation were Greece (0.3%), Sweden (1.0%) and Latvia (1.9%). The highest annual inflation rate was recorded in Hungary (6.4%), Romania (5.4%) and Estonia (4.1%).
