European unemployment hits new high

The European unemployment rate hit new high again in November 2012. The percentage of jobless in the euro area climbed up to 11.8%, compared with 11.7% in October 2012. The EU27 unemployment rate stayed stable at 10.7%, compared with October 2012. Member states with the lowest unemployment rate were Austria (4.5%), Luxembourg (5.1%), Germany (5.4%) and the Netherlands (5.6%). On the contrary, Spain (26.6%) and Greece (26.0%) have the highest unemployment rate in the European Union.
