ČEZ is allowed to build two new nuclear reactors in Temelín

On Wednesday 22nd October the State Office for Nuclear Safety on request of ČEZ issued permission to build two new reactors in the area of Temelín nuclear power plant. Its president Dana Drábová said to it that the office hadn’t found any serious reasons that would prevent issuing the permission. ČEZ filed this request alredy in the period when the tender was still running but even now the decision of the Office would be useful as it is applicable to any other tender that may arise. In the matter of construction itself and tender announcement ČEZ is still waiting for the final decision of the Government of Bohuslav Sobotka on the strategy of development of nuclear energy that is to be published at the end of this year.
