Government: reducing of legislative barrier during application for cohesion funds support discussed

At its session on 22 August, the Government discussed a proposal of strategy on reducing the legislative barrier during application for financial support of cohesion funds of the EU. The Ministry of Regional Development should prepare a legislative intent of reducing barriers before the new budget period of the EU (2014–2020) starts. The Ministry intends to lower administrative burden imposed on applicants by implementation of complete electronic communication. The application should provide with the same documents regardless the operational program the applicants ask for. The Ministry also expects that the assessing state office should look for additional information regarding applicants. An increased importance of effective financial control is also emphasized.
The Government delegated the elaboration of precise measures to the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Ministry of Regional Development and Ministry of Industry and Trade. The strategy will be prepared till 31 December, 2012.
