In his statement for the TASS press agency Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that he has ordered Ukrainian company Energoatom to speed up the construction of third and fourth reactor bloc of Chmelnyce nuclear power plant. As the type of the reactors should be VVER-1000 the supplier that is going to be preferred is Škoda JS as is at the moment more plausible solution than making deal with Russian company. Ukrainian side expressed its clear preference of Czech supplier to Russian one in this case despite the fact that Ukrainian and Russian side signed an accord on cooperation in this matter already in 2010. At that time the Sberbank offered 3-year loan for the construction of reactor with the condition of Ukrainian co-financing level of at least 15 %. Ukrainian side later rejected this offer and now plans to reject the accord with Russia and award the contract to Czech company.
