MEPs to discuss Czech Republic´s EU funding spending

The budget control committee of the European Parliament should have discussed last week the report of the monitoring mission it sent to the Czech Republic regarding problems in EU funds spending. The report recalls as the main problems of the Czech Republic the interference in public procurement processes, but also the possible conflict of interests of Mr Babiš, the minister of finance. The MEPs are rather strict towards Mr Babiš. In general, the committee states that the European Commission´s recommendations to the Czech Republic were only partially implemented. However, the situation should get better once the civil service law is implemented. The discussion on the report was postponed to one of the future meetings of the committee.
