Next European Council to discuss the €300 billion investment agenda

On 18 and 19 November, ministers in charge of EU affairs of the EU Member States held a meeting of the General Affairs Council. The principal point of the agenda was the preparation of the December European Council. This next month´s EU summit will discuss measures to foster growth and jobs across the bloc. One of the tools should be the €300 billion worth investment plan promised by the Commission President Juncker. The EU leaders will also discuss wider international issues, such as Ukraine and ebola.

The ministers discussed also the implementation of the conclusions of the last European Council, namely the 2030 climate and energy agenda, particularly the points related to energy union. Other general issues which were debated include the working plan of the EU institutions for 2015, monitoring mechanism of rule-of-law within the EU and cohesion policy.
