Czech Prime Minister Sobotka informed President of the European Council Tusk and President of the European Commission Juncker about Czech interest to host European Banking Authority in the Czech Republic.

Dear Mr. President,
I would like to inform you that the Czech Republic is seeking to host the European Banking Authority (EBA) in the Czech Republic.

I am persuaded that the location of the EBA in the Czech Republic as a non-euro Member State, however with the commitment to enter, could be beneficial regarding the future development of the Eurozone and the EU. I perceive keeping the seat of the EBA outside of the Euro area, especially in connection to Brexit, a prerequisite for maintaining the integrity of the Internal Market and also the balance between members of the Banking Union and the other EU Member States, the letter says.
