Politics: CTK: Czech Deputy ForMin talks to Syrian ForMin in Damascus. Potential peace treaty could be signed in Prague (updated)

 

"The Czech Republic participates in building balance of forces in Syria that would make it possible to find a political solution [to the situation in the country] and end violence and the driving of Syrian inhabitants from the country," Irena Valentova, spokeswoman for the Czech ministry, told CTK on 13 November, as Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Tlapa visited Damascus, Syria...Mr. Tlapa also met Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Makdad. Syrian President Bashar Assad must leave, he may assist in the transition of the Syrian system but finally he must end in the post, British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said after meeting his Czech counterpart Lubomir Zaoralek in Prague on 13 November, CTK, Czech news agency, wrote.

Recently, in an interview for Czech Radio Plus, Deputy Foreign Minister Tlapa said that the Czech Republic has been active in the Syrian conflict resolution, the Czech embassy in Syria has been serving as a humanitarian aid hub for EU countries and potentially, a peace treaty could be signed in Prague.
