AmCham Germany meets US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross in Washington, DC. Chance for constructive talks between the US and Europe on the trade dispute

Washington, DC, September 19, 2018 – A delegation from AmCham Germany is currently in Washington, DC to hold talks with high-ranking US decision makers on transatlantic business relations. AmCham Germany President Frank Sportolari says, "We currently see the chance for solution-oriented dialogue in the trade conflict with the US."

The program of the Washington visit includes meetings with US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross; Clete Willems, Deputy Director of the National Economic Council at the White House; the US Trade Representative for Europe, Ambassador Jeffrey Gerrish; the German Ambassador to the US, Dr. Emily Haber; Under Secretary Sigal Mandelker at the US Treasury and other high-ranking representatives from politics, industry associations, think tanks and the media.

"In conversations it’s been clear that the transatlantic partnership is of paramount importance and that both sides have a great deal of interest in strong, well-functioning European-American business relations," says Frank Sportolari.
Another important issue is workforce development. Sportolari offered the support of AmCham Germany and its members in establishing vocational training models based on German experience.
