Unjustified data localisation requirements in some Member States are increasingly threatening to fragment the Single Market. These barriers undermine the competitiveness of a true Digital Single Market which could provide an estimated EUR 415 billion to the EU’s GDP.

joint letter on future-proofing the EU Single Market by enabling the free flow of data to Mr. Andrus Ansip, EC Vice President for the Digital Single Market and Mr. Günther H. Oettinger, European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society.
