Results of ARC5 Forum: Policy recommendations to Education Ministers

The ASEM Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum (ARC) is a bi-annual conference series that has been recognised as an Official Dialogue Partner of the ASEM Education Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM ME). Themed “Employability: Asia and Europe Prepare the New Generation”, the 5th ASEM Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum (ARC5) held in Prague 4-8 April 2016 focused on employability skills. University leaders and students from all 51 Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) partner countries developed proposals for the upcoming ASEM Education Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM ME6) to be held in 2017 in Korea. Recommendations include conclusions of the Students' Forum and the Rectors' Conference. 

The policy recommendations of the Students' Forum include the areas of multi-stakeholder dialogue, work experience in the new economy, mobility, accessibility and financing. Read details.

The Rectors' Conference recommedn policy makers to encourage an “employment-friendly” curriculum, to acknowledge the importance of work-study balance, extracurricular activities, and exchanges,, and to better address the challenges of the New Economy. Read details.
