European Cities Marketing Benchmarking Report 2017: Prague ranks 7th in overnight stays, domestic visitors' stays go up

City tourism is growing against disturbances, European Cities Marketing writes in their 2017 report. Prague ranks 7th in overnight stays with almost 16.8 mil bednights in 2016, a 5.5% increase year-on-year.

The top performers were London (75 mil bednights in 2016, but -3.2% year-on-year), Paris (44 mil, -8.2% y-ear-on-year) and Berlin (31 mil, +2.7% year-on-year). Vienna ranked 8th (almost 15.8 mil bednights in 2016, an increase by 4.1% year-on-year).

For the first time in recent years, the increase in overnight stays of domestic tourists (6%) was higher than the increase in the number of overnight stays by foreign visitors, Radio Praha comments.
