PCB: Prague attracts 250,000+ MICE delegates in H1 2016

There were 2,340 events of different size and focus organized during the first half of 2016 in Prague collective accommodation establishments, according to the statistical data of the Czech Statistical Office. It is more than one-third of all events held in the Czech Republic for the same period. Conferences, congresses, corporate meetings and other events were attended by 273,548 participants.

According to data collected by the Prague Convention Bureau based on the organisation members’ data, the most events took place in hotels. Czech Statistical Office’s statistics, dealing only with events held in collective accommodation establishments with more than 50 participants, shows that meeting planners prefer 4* and 3* hotels for their meetings. Also, PCB data show that corporate meetings dominated over other types of events and that the size of most meetings varies between 10 and 149 delegates. Although the local events prevailed slightly over the international ones, the delegates were coming to Prague from all over the world – mostly from Germany, United Kingdom, USA and Austria. Among the key topics discussed were industry, pharmacy, IT and telecommunication, PCB writes.
