The Government greenlighted a draft amendment to the Act on Banks at its November 2 session. The bill introduces changes in access to branches of foreign banks operating outside the EU/EEA area, and related technical improvements.

The Government passed the International Competitiveness Strategy of the Czech Republic / Back to the Top 2012-2020 at its meeting on September 27. This is an umbrella strategy for more than 150 projects in areas such as Innovation, Labor Market, Education, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Institutions, Financial Markets or Business Environment, that should address the fall of the Czech Republic in competitiveness rankings.
