planes.cz More flights to Prague and termination of Brno-Munich connection

Starting from March 6, there will be more flights from Ekaterinburg to Prague in URAL AIRLINES schedule. In addition to regular flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays – flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays will be added, Prague Airport informed.

China Eastern Airlines has confirmed its decision to increase the number of flights on the carrier’s Prague – Shanghai route. Effective 6 May 2019, the airline will offer five weekly connections from Václav Havel Airport Prague to Shanghai, with the new frequency added on Mondays, Prague Airport wrote

Ryanair, a low-cost carrier, has announced its launch of new routes to Palma de Mallorca and Bordeaux. The airline will service flights from Prague to the largest of the Balearic Islands every Tuesday from June 2019, while the Bordeaux connection will be offered, with twice weekly frequency on Thursdays and Sundays, effective 27 October 2019, Prague Airport wrote. Vueling does not plan to fly during the summer flight schedule on some of the currently operated lines. At present, the air carrier does not offer flights between Zurich and Prague. Vueling is currently operating flights between Prague and Barcelona, Paris (Charles de Gaulle) and Rome (Fiumicino). For the next winter season the airline also announced flights between Prague and Florence, planes.cz wrote.

BMI flights 1735/6 from Munich to Brno and back are no longer operated due to announced termination of flybmi operations and reported bankruptcy of the company. Among the reasons for bankruptcy, the company cites rising fuel prices or emission problems following a recent EU decision to exclude British airlines from full EU emissions trading. According to data from the Brno airport, 22,800 passengers used 11 flights per week in 2018 (two flights a day on working days, one on Sunday). Launching the Brno-Munich connection in mid-November 2015, the airline carried 54,000 passengers on the route, planes.cz informed.
