Prague announced as a host city for the ICCA Congress in 2017

Winning in tough competition against shortlisted competing cities of Gdansk in Poland and St. Petersburg in Russia the Czech capital was selected to host ICCA Congress in 2017. According to the ICCA CEO Martin Sirk pleasing delegates of such a prestigious congress seems very difficult as they are not easily impressed. Czech representatives seem optimistic in that way and mayor of Prague Tomáš Hudeček said: “We want to inspire ICCA delegates with the story of our city's success in the international meetings market, which has occurred not just because we are a great cultural and tourist city, but because we have placed international meetings at the heart of our economic development and knowledge economy strategies. Bidding for this prestigious congress has helped us to forge a stronger and more creative team, involving public and private sector organisations all across our country, and we are honoured that ICCA has placed its trust in us to deliver an outstanding event.”
