The Czech Post will remain state company

As a result of meeting of Minister of Finance Andrej Babiš and director of the Czech Post Martin Elkán it was agreed that the transformation to the joint-stock company will be stopped next week and the Czech Republic clearly declares that Czech Post retains the status of state company. Minister of Finance also brought with him the list of 30 questions considering various problematic areas. These questions are to be answered within the next 14 days. The problem of Czech Posts are services that it has to provide for the state. The key to resolving these issues is the prepared novel of Post Act and money from the compensation fund created by the contributions from Czech Post’s competitors. Czech Post is also going to introduce its own banking services in the near future. On the side of reducing expenditures the Czech post is cutting approximately 70 directorial post and thus decreasing the cost going form five level management to four level management model.
