The Czech Republic worsened in competitiveness ranking

According to Europe 2020 Competitiveness Report published by World Economic Forum Czech competitiveness is lower than previous year and the Czech Republic 18th which is 2 places lower than the year before. On the first five place are for now Finland, Sweden, The Netherlands, Denmark and Germany. On the other side are for example Greece, Bulgaria or Romania. WEP survey shows that Europe didn’t narrow the gap behind American competitiveness. Its experts agree that Europe is on the right track but it needs to implement crucial reforms. It is also the case of the Czech Republic where the factors are excessive bureaucracy in setup of businesses, weak rate of innovation, low number of new patent applications and worsening education and professional training. The Czech Republic also has to improve its attitude to sustainable environment especially its high dependence on non-renewable resources, high carbon dioxide emissions and also weak international activity regarding environment treaties.
