ABSL J. Appleton: 'We are working hard to develop other cities like Olomouc, Plzen, Hradec Kralove, Usti.'

The business services sector continues to grow rapidly in the Czech Republic. The number of centres has risen by 10% and the number of employees in this segment has risen by 19% year-on-year. A total of 220 companies providing business services worldwide from the Czech Republic now employ 89,000 people and contribute 5% to the GDP in the Czech Republic, Association of Business Services Leaders (ABSL) says.

'The Czech Republic was one of the first CEE countries to establish business services centers 10-15 years ago. So now those centres are still here, they are very well developed, they are fantastic employers and they are growing at nearly 20% a year in empployees number, as well as developing all kinds of new technology and robotics to drive their services forward,' ABSL Director Jonathan Appleton says.

'We are working hard to develop other cities like Olomouc, Plzen, Hradec Kralove, Usti. Many cities have had good universities, have good infrastructure and have the capabilities to build more business service centres in the future,' he adds.

'In Prague, it's quite difficult to find people, but in Olomouc, there is a capability of still growing,'' Marko Laine, Director NNIT adds.
