Competitiveness: Czech TOP 100

On Thursday 19th June the results of jubilee 20th edition of Czech TOP 100 ranking were announced during the ceremony at the Prague Castle. Czech TOP 100 is a ranking of most successful enterprises that is divided to various categories for example by their revenues, exports, number of employees. Special categories and special prizes are also awarded. This year’s overall winner is expectedly again Škoda Auto with revenue of CZK 268,5 bn for the year 2013 which is more than CZK 50 bn more than ČEZ that ranked second. Škoda Auto also dominated the category of exports with exported goods in value of CZK 245 bn. In the category of net profit Škoda Auto ranked 4th with almost CZK 14 bn. Other companies that ranked in Top 5 are ČEZ, a.s. on 2nd place, RWE Supply & Trading CZ, a.s. that is 3rd, then Agrofert, a.s. and Unipetrol, a.s. Aside these enterprises that were the most successful in terms of general ranking are others that are also worth of attention. For example EPH (Energetický a průmyslový holding) is only company that managed to squeeze itself between the TOP 10 for the first time. It relived Alpiq Energy SE that didn’t make it not only to TOP 10 but also to TOP 100. On the other hand textile manufacturing company Veba made it to TOP 100 for the fifth time and received prize for the most stable company.
