Good Governance: Amendments to the Rules of Procedure introduced

The Chamber of Deputies discussed a private members’ Bill on the Rules of Procedure of the Chamber of Deputies. The Bill was put forward by a group of currently governmental and also oppositional deputies. They proposed the Bill at the very beginning of the electoral term (in November 2013); there is a perceived consensus on the intention of the Bill among proposing deputies.

The amendment aims at clarifying of the legislative procedure under which any Bills are approved at the Chamber of Deputies. There are several areas in which the Bill has a regulatory effect – public deliberation, committee stage, and deputies' amendments in the second reading.
