The Czech government has signaled its attempt to improve relations with China in order to boost trade between countries. Czech government officials announced they would adopt EU policy towards the communist country, and would no longer question its occupation of Tibet. However, the y pledged to fight against potential human right violation. Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomir Zaoralek is travelling to Beijing for 3 days, the first official visit by a Czech foreign minister to China in 15 years. Czech Republic is interested in cooperation in the energy, cultural, aviation and tourism sectors. Further, Zaoralek and his counterpart will discuss possible Chinese investment in the Czech Republic. Tourism will be addressed during meeting between Zaoralek and the head of the China National Tourism Administration Shao Qiwei. China is only the 16th biggest export destination for the Czech Republic. However, Czech exports grew from around 13.2 billion crowns in 2008 to nearly 32.7 billion in 2012.
