The leadership of AmCham CZ ’s Technology Council - led by AmCham President Milan Šlapák of GE Aviation, AmCham Vice-President Michal Klimeš of Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Tomáš Szaszi of Honeywell together with Brno-based AmCham member companies, key players in the local and global market in their respective industries - met with the new rector of Brno University of Technology (VUT Brno) Ladislav Janíček.

Future of Prague Series: AmCham Prague Council on the university's role in an innovative city

At AmCham our aim is increase prosperity (according to our Prosperity Index) through greater business innovation (and investment). That is why we applauded the first articulation- The Country for the Future that the country's economic future was tied to its innovative capability. For the Czech Republic to be that country in the future, Prague needs to start being that city right now. And if Prague is going to be that city, the Czech Technical University in Prague will be the engine powering its performance.

Each country, including the Czech Republic, will need to define a strategic industry of the future

AmCham held another Technology Council session, this time moderated by Michel Perret, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, General Manager Europe, and AmCham Board Member, focusing on challenges for supply chains. Lockdowns raised demand for stay-at-home equipment and created future demand.  Among the challenges in 2020 were higher commodities prices, or containers shipping rates spikes.
